LILhood goes sailing

LILhoods on a sailing boat in Croatia in late September- who would have thought it? This was Jessica Mayhew's idea, and utterly fabulous! We each had one for the holiday. Theo decided immediately that the rubgy lads would not approve so didn't wear his on the flight, boat or any other occasion. Kirsty hardly took hers off all holiday and Jessy, who had her own already, wore it with style. Amazingly LILhoods fit the sailing wardrobe well; for chilly evenings when doing a night sail, for cold knees out for dinner (far more glamorous than a blanket). I was very happy for mine as I had keratin hair treatment not long ago and the golden rule with keratin treatment is no salt...

Hoodspiration

There's something elegant, mysterious and glamorous about the hood style. Looking out with smoky eyes to the big bad world from a cosy corner of contentment. The picture of Princess Diana captures the hood style sparkle. It's not new: the mass of anorak-with-fake-fur-trim-style coats that are in every high street store keep it alive. I love the under-the-hood look! It's like "this is my place and that's yours. My hood space". What amazes me is how long I went without buying a hooded anorak before I made a hood- but that's another story. This blog is about Hoodspiration, some of the good hood vibes from out there in the media. There's Demelza from Cornwall in this season's Poldark: There has also...

LILhood on the moors

Tash, Sophie and I were oop North watching our boyfriends (*and Sophie's fiancé) playing in an annual rivalrous cricket match, and ventured to the Moor after a very large and delicious lunch at the Blue Bell Inn, to take some photos of the LILhoods.   It was sunny when we strolled away from the cricket, but after a short time it poured! We were asking for it by doing a long walk with three winter hoods. And we all know what September weather is like in England. It was a dream to see Tash and Sophie wearing the hoods. After a long and hot summer, finally a girls in hoods ta-dah. At this time of year, the heather comes out on the Moors, so we were a little nervous...

Have you ever worn a bag on your head?

Back in my student days at Bristol our house headed to Thorpe Park for a fun day out. It was beautiful weather when we first arrived so we were delighted get summer gear on. At about 3pm we were standing towards the back of a 40min queue, about 1o minutes in when the clouds opened and we were utterly soaked. I had straightened my hair that morning so was distraught, so distraught that I wore a bag on my head. There was a weigh up: should I a)look like an idiot with a bag on my head and keep straight hair for the rest of the day, or b)get frizzy hair. Here's the result..                It's easier for me to share this...
